The Indio City Council voted early Thursday morning to continue its decision on the 183-acre Oasis at Indio project rather than approve or deny it, directing the developer to return with a reduced industrial component after almost an hour of public opposition to the plan’s 1.8 million square feet of light industrial space. The council did not set a date for the item’s return.

The Palm Springs Human Rights Commission’s Disability Access Subcommittee outlined a proposed action plan Monday to combat illegal parking in disabled spaces, including a recommendation to enlist a volunteer citizen patrol modeled on a program used in Fremont, Calif.
