LIBRARY RETHINK

Palm Desert leaders are leaning toward exploring a lease extension for the library space at College of the Desert and renovating it, rather than building a standalone library, Mayor Evan Trubee told the Parks and Recreation Committee on Tuesday. He said the lease has not been finalized.

The Indio City Council voted 3-1 Wednesday to continue a proposed six-month downtown entertainment zone to its next meeting, so staff can return with options based on council feedback.

The CV Link path under Ramon Road will be closed and removed entirely during the two-year reconstruction of the Ramon Road Bridge, city engineering staff told the Palm Springs Active Transportation Subcommittee on Monday.

The Palm Desert City Council on Thursday directed staff to continue developing a permanent outdoor dining program that would allow restaurants to use public parking spaces if they build removable, accessible sidewalks.
