500 NEW TREES
Previous IID tree programs have provided trees for private residents throughout the East Valley.
Powered by a $2.9 million state and federal forestry grant, Indio is set to receive 500 native and drought-tolerant trees as part of a three-year regional program. Half will line city parks and streets, while the other 250 will be distributed to residents.

While tourist districts and residential enclaves remain calm on the surface, community groups told the Palm Springs Human Rights Commission on July 13 that federal agents are actively targeting local workers, leaving families without providers and pushing vulnerable residents to extreme measures.

The median price for an average-sized detached home in Palm Desert fell 5% to $692,000 compared to the year before while attached home prices fell .6% to $512,000, according to the latest Greater Palm Springs Realtors (GPSR) Desert Housing Report.
