FESTIVAL TRIBUTE

Artist Adam Enrique Rodriguez was selected out of a group of 19 artists to create his massive “Nuestra Vida” mural celebrating Indio’s history and culture.

Indio will unveil Adam Enrique Rodriguez’s massive "Nuestra Vida" mural, a vibrant day-to-night scene celebrating the city's festival spirit, during a ribbon-cutting ceremony on February 18.

REUSE PLANNED

The Sheriff's Department has been using this building since 1989 but will be moving out at the end of the year.

The Palm Desert City Council wants to use a Riverside County Sheriff's Department facility at Civic Center for city purposes, directing staff to research options to renovate the property rather than pursue private leasing or demolition.

Abode Communities on Tuesday unveiled plans for Sonora Homes, a 203-unit affordable housing development in Indio featuring an early childhood education center. Designed to serve households earning 30% to 80% of the area median income across three phases, the project now faces significant funding hurdles due to state budget cuts.

The Palm Desert Cultural Arts Committee on Wednesday voted unanimously to advance two artists as finalists for a sculpture to be placed at the San Pablo Phase 2 roundabout, located at the intersection of San Pablo Avenue and the east entrance to College of the Desert.
